On the outside, VKK-6M has two rubber tubes running from buttom to the top - these are filled with air as soon as cockpit becomes unpressurized to prevent pilots from internal damage due to the pressure difference. Suit was designed to help pilots withstand upto 10g and is capable to work at temperatures ranging from -50C to +50C degrees. GSh-6A helmet have a two-position clear visor. Its lowering mechanism is made in such a way that when the visor is in lowered position, it's sealed to the helmet and won't allow air either come in or escape from the helmet. Main visor is automatically heated to prevent it from fogging up in lowered position.
