I never overcharge for shipping, but I try to quote just enough to cover plastic sleeves for magazines, tape and/or boxes. I do not charge extra for "handling". Shipping rates from Canada can be surprisingly high and we do not have choices small packets or media mail. I ALWAYS do my very best to keep the price low to compensate for exorbitant shipping costs. So if it costs $8.00 USD to ship a hardcover book that I sold for $3.00, please try to understand RETURNS If you purchase an item from me and feel that it is not as described, please let me know. If you are willing to ship it back to me at your expense, I will refund the cost of the item. I try to be very accurate in my descriptions of my items for sale. If you say an item is fair, and I think it is good, that is not grounds for a refund. Please accept the fact that items are described with care and accuracy, but descriptions are subjective too. PAYING FOR YOUR ITEM Obviously, if I had my way, everyone in the world would be on PayPal and all payment would be instant. When someone purchases something from me, I want to get it shipped immediately. Unfortunately, the whole world is not on PayPal, so I do try to accomodate people as well as I can. I can accept money orders in CANADIAN funds ONLY. For this reason, Paypal is still the fastest and most secure method of payment. INSURANCE I can add insurance on any item you purchase, but it is your responsibility to ask for it. Expedited parcels have $100.00 insurance from Canada Post. If the item you are purchasing is worth more than $100.00, extra insurance up to $1,000 can be added for $1.20 per $100. So, for example, if you buy an item for $350.00, the first $100 of insurance is included and you will then need to add $3.60 for another $300 (I cannot add $50 worth of insurance so you will need to get enough to go up to the next $100). for a total of $400 worth of insurance. If you are ordering an item that you feel is worthy of insurance, please ask for it and include the extra with your payment. Also, parcels sent by Domestic, US or International EXPEDITED post, I get a tracking number to check on late or undelivered parcels. Small packet rate is cheaper but does NOT include a tracking number. SHIPMENT OF TIME SENSITIVE ITEMS Occasionally, I sell time sensitive items, like birthday party accessories. It is YOUR responsibility to make sure you have these items shipped in a timely fashion. If I say delivery will take 9-10 days, that is an aproximate ETA given by the post office. For international orders, I would allow 4-6 weeks at least for standard surface mail shipping to be on the safe side. I can give you all the shipping rates that are available for the time limit you have. Once the item has left my hands, I am at the mercy of the postal services of multiple countries, both here and abroad. While I try to work together with all of my customers, please do not EXPECT me to refund for an item that arrived late or not at all. We are all in the same boat relying on postal services. The whole point is that we are ALL at the mercy of the post services, and any delivery time is estimated. I ship EVERY day, so if you pay for your item on a Monday, it will be shipped Monday or Tuesday. Payment on a Saturday will be shipped Monday. TIMELY COMMUNICATION AND PAYMENT DELAYS I appreciate some form of communication from purchasers as soon as possible. If I havn't heard from a purchaser within 2 or 3 days following and auction's close, I will send regular reminders on an almost daily basis. If there is a reason you havn't paid for your item, or need more time, just ask. Don't ignore me and hope I'll go away because I won't...LOL. A little bit of communication will save us both a lot of trouble and time. If, after seven days, I still have not heard from you and you have not paid, you will be reported to EBay as a non-paying bidder. This is the only way I can get reimbursed for selling fees on a non paid item. I'm sure the good folks at EBay have better things to do than messaging you about an unpaid item, so please either pay in a timely manner or alert me to any delays. I am actually a pretty understanding fellow, given half a chance. SPOOF OR FAKE E-MAILS It seems to me that lately there are more and more deceptive "spoof" or fake e-mails. I always try to contact my purchasers through EBay and not from outside of EBay. Recently, I sold an item that ended up with 22 bids and all of the other bidders received a second chance offer to purchase the item. I did not send any second chance offers, but it was obviously someone trying to make a quick and easy dollar by deceiving honest people. Please be alert and cautious. On the rare occasions I send second chance offers, it will ONLY be done through EBay and my name will be attached to it. You should drop a quick not to confirm everything before sending cash to anyone. It's better to be safe. FEEDBACK I always give feedback immediately after receiving payment. I am very happy with the feedback I have received from happy customers and am very proud of my feedback numbers. I work very hard to keep my customers happy and hopefully willing to come back again.
