The fan is in excellent working condition and is marked on the brass tag under the switch "TYPE AUU FORM AD1 No. E 79187 SPEC 272082-1 CAT 34017 VOLTS 110 CYCLES 60 GEN. ELEC. CO. USA". The original brass tag is still on the front of the cage and features a large script G and E. The fan measures app. 16" tall to the top of the cage, the blades are brass and measure app. 12" in diameter, the cage measures app. 13" in diameter. The fan has a slide switch on the base that features an Off setting as well as Hign, Medium and Low speeds. The fan works well on all three speeds, stops on the off setting and there is no wobble to the blades when running on any speed. The slide switch is a little hard to move from one setting to another so it probably needs a proper cleaning and lubrication. The cord has been replaced at some point but I would suggest a proper cord be installed and a good cleaning prior to actually using the fan. The fan is as found in untouched and uncleaned condition. There are no bends or dents to the blades or cage. The base plate has some surface rust but nothing that looks severe. The black surface is pretty well intact except as mentioned, the fan displays very well and should polish up nicely. If you like early fans this example will make an excellent addition to your collection!!!!
