Magic Token-MT326 Variant-Kellar Thurston-XmasCardRARE Start Price USD 49.99 Current Price USD 305.00 Time Left - Bid Count 12 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Friday, September 05, 2008 End Time Friday, September 12, 2008 Location Putnam, Connecticut See more about 'Magic Token-MT326 Variant-Kellar Thurston-XmasCardRARE' Description Magic Token-MT326 Variant-Kellar Thurston-1973 Xmas Card RARE /  MT326 Variant     (No Reserve-Bid & Item Will Sell.) /  LOCATION:  Nashville TN /  DATE:  1973 /  OBV:  Two busts face left, with text:  THURSTON - KELLAR 1907/1932  1908/1933 /  REV:   Blank /  COMPOSITION:  Plaster or Dental Stone /  SIZE:  44.6 mm /  EDGE:  Smooth /  COND:  MINT.  The original MT 324 was made by Thomas Chew Worthington in 1933.  It was cast in dental stone, from a mold Worthington had made, and painted green.  After Worthington died, the mold eventually ended up at the Ringling Circus Museum, in Sarastoa, Florida.  When they closed, David Price, of Egyptian Hall, in Nashville, Tenn. acquired the mold.  He eventually made these using the original mold, but painted them in silver paint.  He used them on his Christmas card in 1973.  The front of the card was reprinted from sections of the 1908 program from Ford's Theatre, in Baltimore, Maryland.  This was the program from the week commencing May 11th, 1908, when Kellar passed the mantel to Thurston, on the stage of that theatre.  The token was glued on the front of the card, as seen in the image. They are rare, especially when still attached to the card.  They are all here in MINT condition.   (If there is no MT, AP, PC, or PD number listed above then this token is not listed in Magicians' Tokens and Related Items, by F.
