Tamahagane (jewel steel) blade. Comes with a copy of the Registration Paper as you see in the photograph!  The jigane (grain pattern) of the blade is impressive! The blade is virtually flawless. Please see the photographs. The blade is very healthy with no fatal flaws. Please look at the photographs of the blade and you will see.  The Katana blade has a KAO (carved monogram of sword smith's name on the nakago [tang]). The Kao says the sword smith's name is "YAMASIRONOKAMI FUJIWARA KUNIKANE". This makes this sword very valuable!  Also note that the length of the katana blade (nagasa) is 100 cm!!! This is rather long for an Edo period blade and rare. Most Edo katana blades are under 90 cm.  The blade has been very well maintained and protected over the many years. The blade comes with complete Koshirae that is also in great condition and attractive.  The Katana's blade and tsuba (hand guard) are true Edo period items. The rest of the katana's koshirae is modern age.   This katana is  a great investment and addition to any serious collection. I have photographed every flaw and noted it also. Buyer must pay for the sword via Bank Wire Transfer OR PayPal in full payment within 5 days after the auction closing. Please contact me prior to making payment. I will ship the sword to anywhere in the world. Please make sure your address is correct and safe for a shipment of this type. I am not responsible for the customs or laws of your country. If the customs inspectors of your country open the box and inspect the sword, I am not responsible for any delay in shipping that they may cause. The sword will be shipped with insurance to cover the sword if lost or stolen. The sword will be legally exported out of Japan. All legal paperwork and export fees in Japan will be taken care of by me. A delay in payment will delay the paperwork.
